If you remember being a teenager, you know that there came a time in your life when traveling with your parents suddenly didn’t seem so fun and cool as it used to. Now, if you’re a parent, there’s no denying that some day, your kids are going to feel the same way from time to time (no matter awesome you might be!).
This type of strife can often rear its ugly head during vacation.
The good news? All is not lost. There are tons of activities and places you can go that will really speak to your teenage kids and they will love.

While you could actually be hard pressed to fit in all the amazing museums in Washington, D.C., one of the newer and more popular choices is the Newseum. It’s super high tech and follows the history of news from the 16th century till today with lots of interactive exhibits.
Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum

It’s not often that anyone outside the military can stand on the deck of an actual aircraft carrier, but at the Intrepid Museum you can. The ship isn’t the only attraction, as there is really a complex of activities you can take your kids to see including the Space Shuttle Pavilion. If you’re in New York City, you don’t want to miss it!
Museum of the Weird
There are few museums with a better name that will instantly perk up teenagers than the Museum of the Weird. Located in a place that celebrates it’s weirdness, Austin, Texas, you’ll find everything from pranks to urban legends in this spot. If the kids love to be unconventionally entertained, this could be the place for them.
The Mob Museum

While most people prefer to hit up Vegas without the kids, you might be surprised there’s tons of things for families to do in “Sin City.” One attraction that will be sure to interest the teens in your group is The Mob Museum. Filled with the history of the mob, and tons of interactive exhibits, it’s fun for the whole family.
International UFO Museum

Lots of teenagers love anything that’s a bit spooky or strange, so where better to take them than the International UFO Museum in Roswell, New Mexico. Here, they can learn all about the history of the mysterious Area 51, plus relive any Mulder and Scully moments investigating past UFO appearances.
These are some of the best museums for teens we could find out there across the country. Remember, just because you’re traveling with teens doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of attractions out there that can not only speak to their interests, but teach them a little something as well.
