It’s beginning to look a lot like winter! That means that ice-skating rinks will start going up nationwide and welcoming skaters from all across the country to enjoy one of the most beloved winter activities. When going ice-skating, most cities will offer a place to lace up your skates and hit the ice. However, if you’re on the hunt for a city that offers the full experience of winter, where you can skate in a winter wonderland, pack your bags and head to one of these cities near you.
New York City, NY
There’s no way we could write a post like this without putting New York City at the top of our list. There is definitely no shortage of ice-skating rinks in New York City and if you’re looking for a true winter wonderland, this is the place to be. From Bryant Park, to Central Park all the way to Rockefeller Center, The Big Apple is an ice-skating experience unlike any other.
If you’re closer to the Mid-West, Chicago is also one of the best cities for ice-skating. Enjoy the beautiful windy city when it’s lit up with twinkle lights and skate around the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink at Millennium Park under the stars.
If you prefer Boston over both Chicago and New York City, than you’re in luck, because Boston is on our list! Head over to the beautiful Boston Common Frog Pond where you can skate around their famous outdoor rink and enjoy snack and refreshments by local chefs.
Los Angeles, CA
Heading out west, Los Angeles draws thousands of skaters each year for Downtown on Ice at the Pershing Square rink. Get that winter feel while ice-skating underneath the palm trees!
Yosemite National Park
Home to many wonderful winter activities, ice-skating has to be one of Yosemite National Park’s most well known. Head over to this scenic location if you’re looking to skate amongst beautiful scenery and don’t miss out on their delicious hot apple cider
Heading back east, Washington D.C’s Sculpture Garden Ice-Skating Rink offers all guests to enjoy a night of skating inside a beautiful rink lite with festive lights. There’s nothing quite like skating the night away in the nation’s capital.
Last, but certainly not least, Philadelphia, PA is one of our favorites, particularly at the Blue Cross River Rink. Our favorite part is Skating with Santa on December 16th!
