The Florida Keys
Key West is considered by many to be the jewel in the crown of this island chain. However, there are many great places to see in the Keys. You can find wonderful beaches at Bahia Honda State Park, deep sea fishing, and of course the party atmosphere right on Key West’s Duval Street.
Las Vegas, Nevada
There’s always fun to be had in Las Vegas, no matter what time of year. But if you’re looking to escape the cold and find some mild weather, it can’t be beaten. Spend your trip wandering from the Freemont Street Experience to The Strip and everything in between.
Sun Valley, Idaho
If you’re someone who is looking to hit the slopes this winter at an affordable rate, you’ll want to head to Sun Valley. It is cheaper than some of those popular big-name resorts in the West. And it’s also gotten some pretty amazing snow as well. Plus with sunshine year round, you can avoid typical cold and harsh conditions.
San Diego, California
San Diego is known for having beautiful weather all year round, so it shouldn’t come as a big shock that people flock here all year round but especially during the winter. While it might be a bit cold for swimming, that doesn’t mean you won’t find plenty to do including the San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, and the USS Midway Museum.
A dusty snowfall covering the Great Smoky Mountains National Park is one site that will take the breath of many people away when they are visiting the Gatlinburg area. It’s Perfectly suited only a few hours drive from cities like Atlanta, Charlotte, and Knoxville. And it features tons of outdoor activities like hiking and snowshoeing.
If you’ve got a golfer in your family, Phoenix is going to be an amazing winter vacation destination. The area has over 200 courses, many of which you’ll see on the PGA Tour. Also, the Phoenix area has hiking at Camelback Mountain and tours of Desert Botanical Garden too.
An affordable big city? Well in the winter, Chicago is it! The windy city is not only beautiful in the winter but also features tons of activities. Start by checking out the winter Christkindlmarket with locations all over the city. Or take in a professional sports game with the Blackhawks or Bulls.
