Central Park Zoo – New York, NY
Located in beautiful New York City, the Central Park Zoo is a “must see” for anyone visiting New York. Lowry Park Zoo – Tampa, FL
Heading to the sunshine state? The Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa, Florida, has been featured among the “Top 25 Zoos in the U.S” by TripAdvisor (2015) and “10 Best Zoos in the U.S.” by Trekaroo (2015). The Zoo emphasizes endangered, threatened and vulnerable species from climates similar to that of the Tampa Bay region, with park areas devoted to Asia, Africa, Australia and Florida. San Diego Zoo – San Diego, CA
A trip to San Diego wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the San Diego Zoo. The 100-acre zoo is home to more than 3,500 rare and endangered animals representing more than 650 species and subspecies. It also features a prominent botanical collection with more than 700,000 exotic plants. In 2015, the San Diego Zoo received TripAdvisor’s Traveler’s Choice award for zoos and aquariums!

Houston Zoo – Houston, TX

Thanks to Nada for suggesting that we add in the St. Louis Zoo. Who knew that this zoo, home to 18,000 animals, is actually free! (Though there is a charge for parking). You can pay for extra attractions such as the stingrays at Caribbean Cove, the sea lion show, safaris, and more!
