Think of Myrtle Beach. What comes to mind?
Sunshine, sandy beaches, and great seafood are just a few. Myrtle Beach is one of South Carolina’s (and the Mid Atlantic Region’s) biggest destinations. Each year millions go to find some warm weather during the winter months or have a fun mini beach holiday.
But there are also a ton of year-round festivals and events in Myrtle Beach too. And these end up drawing their own crowds. After all, there are few better places to spend a few days than enjoying this coastal city.
In this post, we’re going to share with you some of the top festivals and events Myrtle Beach has to offer. Ready to take a look?
World Famous Blue Crab Festival
When an event has ‘world famous’ in the name, you know it has to be good! The World Famous Blue Crab Festival has been held in mid-May for almost 40 years. It brings together people who love seafood, live music, dancing, and crafting. With over 50,000 people in attendance every year, it’s one festival you don’t want to miss!
Can-Am Days Festival
Let’s face it, March in Canada can get pretty chilly. So what better reason for our neighbors to the north to travel to Myrtle Beach than the Can-Am Days Festival. This event put on by the Myrtle Beach Chamber of Commerce has been running for almost 60 years! It offers giveaways, live concerts, and all sorts of special events.
Night of a Thousand Candles
The holiday season in Myrtle Beach has plenty of things to do. But one of the most unique might be the Night of a Thousand Candles. Between late November and mid-December, the Brookgreen Gardens transforms into a beautiful wonderland. The grounds and trees are covered in lights, and there’s a tree lighting ceremony each night.
Beach, Boogie and BBQ Festival
If you’re looking for sun, dancing, and bbq all in one place, you do not want to miss the Beach, Boogie and BBQ Festival. It’s held each year right around Labor Day Weekend. Make sure to bring your appetite and comfortable dancing shoes because there is plenty of delicious bbq to taste while live bands play music into the night.
For tons of family-friendly fun, the Conway Riverfest is an excellent option. Held every year in June, it features all sorts of kid-approved events and activities including a golf car parade, mini rides, and games, face painting and kid-friendly floats. For the adults, there’s live music and a beer garden to enjoy too.
Horry County Fair
NASCAR fans already know the excitement that happens at the Myrtle Beach Speedway. In the last few years, they’ve added another fun event; the Horry County Fair. The area around the racing track transforms into an event featuring daily live entertainment, theme days, amusement park rides, and your favorite fair treats.
These are just a handful of our favorite Myrtle Beach festivals and events, but there are plenty of great options all year round. You don’t want to miss them!
