Festivals and Events in San Diego

San Diego is a year round destination for most. South of Los Angeles and right on the beautiful California coast, it features year round surf, the sun, and sand. For most people, it doesn’t take much convincing to head off to enjoy this area any time of year.

But, if you’re looking to add some excitement to your San Diego getaway, consider going during some of the most popular festivals and events in the region.

In this post, we’ll highlight a handful of the biggest festivals and events in San Diego each year. If you need another reason to come back to San Deigo, this is it!

San Diego Comic Con

Love comics, movies, sci-fi, or anything related to them? If so, you don’t want to miss out on the biggest comic convention event in the US at San Diego Comic Con. Held every year in July, this event brings in not only fans from around the world but celebs, authors, movie makers, and actors who participate in film, tv, and movies around comics.

There is plenty to do at Comic Con. You can take in panel discussions, see special screenings of movies and tv shows, and even interact with your favorite movie stars.

Fleet Week

San Diego is a sea town. That’s made more prominent by the fact it’s home to one of the biggest bases in the US Navy. Every October, San Diego celebrates its proud military heritage by hosting Fleet Week.

The Fleet Week celebration has some events, both for military members (and their families) and civilians alike. These include a sea and air parade, ship tours and concerts.
