The National Zoo, located in Washington DC, is one of the crown jewels in their system, so you don’t want to miss it. The National Zoo is a favorite spot to visit for anyone visiting the nation’s capital, and don’t forget to see its most famous residents, the Giant Pandas!
Lincoln Park Zoo
The Lincoln Park Zoo is located in Chicago, Illinois and is free 365 days a year. The zoo is set on about 35 acres and is one of the oldest in the country. But that doesn’t mean there isn’t anything exciting to see. There are daily activities you can watch and participate in like feedings and animal meet and greets. Plus there are a number of rotating exhibits that come throughout the year too.
Como Park Zoo
In St. Paul, Minnesota, you’ll find the Como Park Zoo and Marjorie McNeely Conservatory. The entire area is an excellent place for families to explore and spend a day. Inside the zoo, you’ll find exhibits featuring animals such as zebras, wolves, gorillas, and giraffes. At Como Park, there are a ton of family-friendly events and activities such as a carousel, garden, and a children’s gallery.
Cape May County Zoo
The Cape May County Zoo is free year-round to visitors and local New Jersey residents. Its consistently ranked on the top 10 lists of best zoos in America. The zoos biggest attraction is the African Savannah, which takes up a full 57 acres of the zoo and features a free flight aviary. Throughout the year, the Cape May County Zoo offers all sorts of fun activities and events including zoo camp, dream nights, and farm to table days.
St. Louis Zoo
The St. Louis Zoo is another top-rated attraction for visitors and local residents in and around St. Louis. With millions of visitors every year, you know they have all sorts of incredible events and attractions for people to enjoy. The zoo itself offers free admission, but keep in mind there are certain parts of the zoo which will require additional payment. However, those aren’t needed to enjoy your visit.
