You won’t ever find a shortage of things to do in Atlanta. But, if you’re traveling to the area with kids, there is one must-see destination: the Children’s Museum of Atlanta.

Getting There
Missing this museum is hard. You’ll find it right in the middle of downtown Atlanta. It’s near some other popular attractions such as Centennial Olympic Park, the World of Coca-Cola, and the Georgia Aquarium.
So, this is the perfect area to kick off a vacation in Atlanta and get all your sightseeing in.
If you’re driving, the museum is right off Interstate 85, which runs through the heart of Atlanta.
Planning Your Visit
Now, if you’re planning a visit keep in mind the Children’s Museum of Atlanta is closed on Wednesdays, with a few exceptions. Be sure to check the calendar for Wednesdays when the museum is open (usually during the summer months). It’s open the rest of the week starting at 10am and closes at either 4pm or 5pm depending on the day.
You can buy tickets online or at the door (there is a slight discount buying online). And, if you have toddlers, stroller parking is available.

Fundamentally Food
This exhibit shows kids how the food that is grown on farms reaches our tables through the supply chain and grocery stores.
Gateway to the World
Gateway to the World is all about exploring geography and the many different cultures we can see about and learn from around the world.
Leaping into Learning
If you’ve got little ones with you, be sure to visit Leaping into Learning, it’s aimed at those museum visitors who are under the age of 5 as a safe space to learn and play.
Let Your Creativity Flow
This exhibit is all about letting those creative juices flow. Kids will love performing on the mini stage, drawing, or painting.
Step up to Science
Teach your kids about the human body or robots here. Show them how light and energy can work. And let them get hands-on at the interactive science bar.
Tools for Solutions
This exhibit is all about letting kids build. There’s a huge ball machine that kids can use tools to operate and all sorts of fun areas to develop and construct things.
In addition, throughout the year, there are also a number of traveling exhibits that will be showcased at the museum too.
