Portable Chargers for Road Trips

By Emily Duty • December 1, 2017 • Technology, Tips, Travel, Uncategorized

What good is a phone that has all your favorite apps and a fancy camera if it has a dead battery? Stay charged and happy with the best portable chargers on the market before you head out on your next adventure.

Aukey Power Bank: $12.99 – $79.99

With two USB ports so you can plug in both your phone and a tablet, the Aukey Power Bank has a large battery capacity, as well as an indicator light to let you know how much charge is left over. The only downside? It’ll take a little while to fully charge, so if you’re looking for a quick fix, this might not be your best bet.

Ankle PowerCore Power Bank: $39.99

This charger is a bit heavy, but it has a massive battery size, and charges your device at incredibly fast speeds. It’s perfect for those times when you need to get some more juice in a pinch. Plus, you won’t need to continually charge the device itself. One charge gives it enough power to charge your phones and tablets multiple times over.

Iceworks 5000mAh Portable Charger: $66.67

With a slim design and charging cables built right into the body of the charger, the Iceworks model is ideal for those looking for an easily transportable option that they can slip into their travel bag. This one has a lot going for it, but USB-C users should be forewarned that this charge only works with micro USB for and Lightning for iPhone cords. The charging cables are also pretty short, so you’ll need to keep your devices close.

MAXOAK 50000 mAh: $135.99

Six ports make this charger a bit large, but if you need to plug in more than a handful of devices–including laptops–this one does the trick. For a tech-obsessed family, it’s a great choice. Not to mention, it’ll likely prevent some fights in the car.

RAVPower Universal Power Bank Travel Charger: $145.99

This multipurpose charger works for both your laptop and phone, making double duty a breeze. Like the Ankle PowerCore charger, it has a bigger design. On the plus side, it stays charged for a longer period of time than some of the other devices. This one also has an AC output, meaning that you can directly plug your laptop into it.
