Disney Springs, which was inspired by Florida’s waterfront towns and natural beauty, is nearing completion on its largest expansion in history. Formerly known as Downtown Disney, the new and improved Disney Springs will feature an updated waterfront district with world-class shopping, unique dining and high-quality entertainment.
Disney Springs has four distinct neighborhoods to explore: The Landing, Marketplace, West Side and Town Center. Eventually, it will have more than 150 retail, dining and entertainment offerings. Whether you’re craving world-class cuisine or a live concert featuring your favorite band, there’s a little something for everyone at Disney Springs.
Here’s a quick guide to what’s staying and what’s changing at Disney Springs:
Slated to replace Disney Quest, the NBA experience will feature hands-on activities that put families and guests of all ages right in the middle of NBA game action. It was recently confirmed the now-closed NBA City restaurant at Universal Orlando Resort will reopen as a “NBA Experience at Walt Disney World” restaurant moving in to Disney Springs. In addition to a restaurant and retail store, guests will be invited to explore inside the world of professional basketball with numerous interactive experiences.
From live street performers to the hottest bands taking the stage at the House of Blues, music lovers will continue to enjoy the vast entertainment options available at Disney Springs. Perhaps the most famous music venue of all, the House of Blues showcases today’s top talent on a daily basis. Want to dine before the show? The House of Blues restaurant Crossroads offers all kinds of soulful eats with free live entertainment each night.

With its storyline centered on Pilot Jock Lindsey from the “Indiana Jones” films, this aviation- themed lounge features unique drinks and small plates. Themed décor like propeller-based ceiling fans, vintage travel posters and correspondence between Jock and Indy will immerse guests in a world of adventure. During my visit, I ordered Dr. Elsa’s Shrimp BLT Flatbread and gave it two thumbs up. Delicious!
Ready to shop until you drop? As Disney Springs nears completion with the opening of Town Center, 2016 will bring some fan-favorite fashion retailers to the area. The new Disney Springs complex will feature Edward Beiner, Lilly Pulitzer, L’Occitane en Provence, PANDORA, Tommy Bahama, UGG, UNIQLO, Zara and more.

While its addition hasn’t been officially announced, sources close to Disney Springs have confirmed the launch of a Coca-Cola Experience at the complex. Making its home in the Town Center area of Disney Springs, the World of Coca-Cola will be located near the Orange Parking Garage and Planet Hollywood, which is currently undergoing a major refurbishment of its own. Assuming it is similar to the World of Coca-Cola experience in Atlanta, guests can expect a sampling lounge, tours of how the product is bottled, a Coca-Cola movie theater, and a merchandise store.
