Toys are important for development. They stimulate the imagination, help with social skills, assist with hand/eye coordination and so much more. Plus- they are just plain fun to play with. And Branson, Missouri knows it!
That’s why they have an entire museum dedicated to all things TOYS. For more details on all of the fun, jump inside of this post.
It all started back in 1998 when a toy-loving couple named Tom and Wendy Beck decided to purchase a toy store in Texas. From there, they scoured endless flea markets, auction houses and different states to grow their collection of long lost childhood favorites. Once they felt like they had a pretty good bit of treasure, they packed it all up and headed to Branson, Missouri with it, where they bought a building on the well-known Branson strip.
Over the next 20 years, their love of toys grew- and so did their property. When more buildings opened up next to their own, they purchased them. And before long, they realized their “World’s Largest Toy Museum” had become the “World’s Largest Toy Museum Complex”.
It’s a place where people of all ages, young and old, love to run around and explore.
There are 6 toy museums on the property.
- World’s Largest Toy Museum
- Harold Bell Wright Museum
- National BB Gun Museum
- World of Checkers Museum
- Stearnsy Bear Museum
- Paul Harvey Jr. Museum
Over 20,000 square feet and one million antiques, memorabilia and books, board games, CDs, and toys- that’s what! As well as, interactive displays and gift shops where you can purchase many of the toys you can find inside of the museum.
Any and every childhood favorite from the 1800s to the present day can likely be found inside one of the museums.
